From Spreadsheets to Spins: How I Found My Power

Hey, I’m Becky and this is How Pole Changed Everything

To be honest, I never expected pole fitness to become such a huge part of my life. I didn’t grow up thinking, “One day, I’ll be a pole instructor.”

I’ve always been a fitness enthusiast. Before pole, I was into heavy weightlifting. But after an injury, I shifted my focus and began exploring calisthenics, yoga, silk, and aerial hoop. I even completed certification courses in yoga and silk, not to teach, but to deepen my practice and move safely and with purpose.

Then came COVID. Like many of us, I was stuck at home- restless, searching for something to keep me going. So, I bought myself a pole.

That single decision quietly changed everything.

Pole felt different. It made me feel strong in my own skin. I kept coming back- spin after spin, bruise after bruise. I didn’t even realise when it stopped being something I did, and started becoming part of who I am.

It wasn’t just about fitness or flexibility. It gave me freedom. It challenged me, pushed me, humbled me and shaped me into who I am today.

Becoming a pole instructor was never part of the plan- it just happened. I started posting videos of my progress on Instagram. A few friends noticed and started coming over to practice with me for fun. Slowly, word spread. More people reached out. And eventually, I started teaching.

Once I stepped into that role, I knew I wanted to do it right. I got certified through @xpertfitnessofficial to build a strong foundation.

Teaching pole isn’t just about showing moves- it’s about helping someone believe in themselves when they’re scared to try. Watching my students conquer fears, unlock strength, and fall in love with their bodies… that’s the real reward.

Being a certified Montessori teacher also helped me. It taught me how to understand individual learning styles, to notice when someone needs a little more time or a little more encouragement- and to teach with both structure and heart.

Before pole? I was working a 9-to-6 job at JP Morgan for 7.5 years. Yep, that was life- emails, calls, deadlines, spreadsheets.

That chapter taught me discipline and drive, but pole gave me something else:

Purpose. Confidence. Joy.

For the first time in a long time, I felt alive, challenged, and unapologetically me.

Becoming an Influencer (Accidentally)

I never set out to be an influencer. I just started documenting my journey- raw, real, and unfiltered. My fails, my wins, the sore muscles, and the small breakthroughs.

And somehow, people connected with it.

I began receiving messages like, “You inspire me,” or “Because of you, I tried my first pole class.”

That still blows my mind.

Being an influencer, for me, isn’t about looking perfect. It’s about being real. It’s about showing what strength actually looks like- and building a space where we lift each other up, both literally and emotionally.

That’s when DizzyDuck came into my life, at just the right time.

My community was growing, and we needed athleisure that felt as powerful and expressive as the pole journey itself.

Pole dancers (and all kinds of movers) need clothes that move with them, support them, and make them feel seen.

DizzyDuck isn’t just athleisure- it’s a vibe. A feeling. A second skin.

Whether you’re upside down on a pole, dancing barefoot in your living room, or out in the world being your amazing self, DizzyDuck is for you.

This journey, from weights and yoga, to pole and performance… from spreadsheets to spins… from solo practice to building a community- has been wild. And it’s still just the beginning.

Thanks for being part of it. 💫
